Small Modular Reactors

Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) are advanced reactors with a power capacity typically up to 300 MW(e) per unit (although a few designs have higher outputs). They offer enhanced safety features, lower initial capital investment, greater siting flexibility. Being factory-built and modular, they allow for faster construction, easier transportation to sites for assembly, and scalability to meet energy needs. They aim to reduce financial risk and provide flexible power for smaller grids or industrial users.
